There can be many reasons to install ground mounted solar panels whether because of inadequate roof space or just the fact that plenty of land is available. The beauty of these systems is they can be positioned and angled for optimum efficiency and this efficiency is amplified in that the panels will be cooler and with less heat there's less friction as solar energy is converted to electricity.
These ground mounted solar panels were installed at a quarry in Birmingham. There are a total of 170 x 380W JA Solar panels with 2 x 30kW Solis 3-phase inverters.
